Cleaning Care Home Flooring
There are two types of flooring in a care home – carpet and vinyl – and both require a different approach given the environment they are being used in, as outlined below:
Impervious Backed Carpets
There are many and varied choices of carpets cleaners, ranging from the conventional vacuum cleaner through to high cost steam cleaning items.
Due to the nature of substances that end up on carpets in care homes, a cleaning machine that has the ability to extract these substances from the pile of a carpet is necessary.

Vinyl Safety Flooring
Conventional mopping achieves a certain amount of cleanliness when cleaning vinyl safety flooring, but its level of effectiveness can be down to the quality of cleaning chemicals being used.
Typically, over time vinyl flooring can become ingrained with dirt which is not removed by the mopping process.
